Active Parenting at BMC 
The PPP will team up again with Berkshire Children and Families to sponsor parenting workshops.  The workshops will use the Active Parenting and Guiding Good Choices Curriculum, evidence-based strategies that give parents useful tools to use at home for effective discipline and communication. These classes are free and open to the public.  Participants receive a Big Y gift card.  Check with BCF for schedules:  448-8281.

Parent Marketing Campaign
Based on the answers to our Parent Survey, we created billboards highlighting the positive things parents do at home with their kids to prevent substance use.  Look for them around town over the coming year.  We will be planning a feedback program, so we can begin to gauge the reach and effectiveness of this campaign soon.  If you would like to join this effort, please let us know!  442-6948.

SAY It Proud Awards

Youth Strategies
The PPP just finished a busy December working with youth on a number of strategies, including Sticker Shock and Alcohol Purchase Surveys.  We are planning now for Shoulder Taps in January.  Students in SADD Chapters will also be busy evaluating the current Student Marketing Campaign, aimed at highlighting healthy attitudes that students have about drinking, such as “97% of us think it’s WRONG to pressure a peer to drink.”
